On Super Saturday, the streets of Chinatown will be transformed into a stage for a spectacular display of athleticism and tradition. This day, typically the second Saturday of the Chinese New Year, is considered the “Closing” of the Chinese New Year celebrations. Over 20 lion dance groups, each with their own unique style and energy, will parade through the greater Chinatown area. The lions dance groups will bless businesses, bringing good fortune and prosperity for the coming year. The air will be filled with the rhythmic beats of drums, gongs and cymbals, and the colorful costumes of the dancers will add to the festive atmosphere.
