Our Mission
Potluck Asian America is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing information about, and amplifying Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI)-focused events in New York City.
We embrace new connections, collaborations, and opportunities for engagement. Like a Potluck meal, we welcome all to contribute and bring something to the “table” for the benefit of the entire New York City community. Our work includes maintaining and sharing an active listing of AAPI events in New York City; a directory of AAPI community organizations and resources; and hosting community-focused events.
The Team
Julie Azuma is the CEO of Different Roads to Learning, marketing educational products for students diagnosed with autism. She serves on the Boards of Japanese American National Museum, SPARK, and the Japanese Association of New York. She has served on many AAPI Boards, including CACF, AWIB and CAPA.
John Eng is a dance and events photographer for a number of non-profit organizations in New York City. He previously started up the Asian New Yorker, a printed monthly publication dedicated to Asian American events and news in the metropolitan area.
Masao Katagami is a New York City-based photographer with a passion for capturing the world’s diverse cultures and events. He specializes in portraits, cultural scenes, and fine art. As an entrepreneur, he has cultivated strong ties within the vibrant Japanese community of New York City.
Sue Lee is a non-profit communications and fundraising consultant who has worked for health, education, cultural, and advocacy organizations in New York City. In addition to Potluck Asian America, she is a member of Impact100 NYC and the Asian Women Giving Circle.
