Join multidisciplinary artist Chris Deng @heycdeng at Georgie’s Cafe @georgies_les in a guided collage workshop where we’ll collage our own Lunar New Year hanging decor pieces, traditionally meant to invite in prosperity/good luck for the year ahead. We’ll kick off with a brief craft lecture where we’ll explore methods of selecting images and meditate on themes of change/ transformation as we collage. Then, we’ll spend an hour constructing our unique, collage hanging pieces and close with a casual gallery walk.

Collage Materials Include… ​Lunar New Year ephemera like red knot tassels, spring couplets/banners, 福 fu character signs, snake stickers, etc. (items sourced from Chinatown!) ​A curated selection of magazines like Vogue China, Vogue, National Geographic, Architectural Digest, Bon Appétit, Out, Condé Nast Traveler, Birds & Bloom, and more ​You’re also welcome to bring any materials you’d like to work with!
