Vietnamese Boat People is thrilled to announce our 6th Annual Story Slam: My Journey, an evening of live storytelling, community, and connection. This year, we’re returning to a LIVE audience at Think!Chinatown, and we’d love your help spreading the word.

We are inviting storytellers of all backgrounds to step up to the mic and share their journeys. Stories may touch on migration, identity, love, loss, healing, or discovery. All are welcome.

Event & Submission Details

Theme: My Journey – personal stories (your own, your family’s, or your ancestors’)
Format: Spoken word (no reading from a script)
Length: 3 minutes max (about 400 words)
Deadline: October 4
Live Event: October 16, 6:30–8:00 PM at Think!Chinatown
Stipend: $200 awarded to each of the 5 selected storytellers
