Today is an especially joyful one for JoySauce, a lifestyle company targeting American Asians and the fans of broader Asian pop culture. The JoySauce Network, a partnership with genre-distributor Cineverse, launched Monday on Amazon Prime Video’s live channels lineup. The creators say the JoySauce Network is the first-ever FAST (free, ad-supporting streaming television) channel dedicated to AAPI audiences (and again, those lovers of Asian pop culture).
The JoySauce.TV website is also now live, as is the iOs JoySauce app, which hosts a video on-demand library via Cineverse’s tech.
JoySauce’s slate of programming includes scripted episodic comedies, feature films, unscripted reality series, music videos and standup comedy. The JoySauce Network boasts 60 percent of its programming as either a U.S. premiere, an original or an exclusive (or for the linear channel, first-on-FAST). JoySance will stream the 2025 Critics’ Choice Association Celebration of AAPI Cinema & Television Awards.
“Despite American Asians being the fastest growing demographic in the U.S., there’s still a glaring gap in content for and by American Asians or their communities,” JoySauce founder and CEO Jonathan Sposato said in a statement. “Building a future where everyone is authentically represented is at the core of everything we do, so we’re incredibly proud to be a catalyst in this long overdue first step to advance AAPI representation on screen. I want us to stand with more stature, walk with more swagger, and to dance with more joy.”
“JoySauce has successfully built a media company that uniquely serves the American Asian community — from creators to fans — with entertaining content across platforms, and we are proud to leverage Matchpoint to bring such a unique and innovative streaming channel to market,” said Alexandra Viglione, vice president of strategic partnerships at Cineverse.
