Teaching Activism in AAPI Communities using Hidden Voices, Chancellor’s Day Professional Learning Workshop

Join the Asian American Education Project, NYC DOE’s Department of Social Studies & Civics, and the Museum of Chinese in America for a full-day professional development workshop that invites educators to engage deeply with Asian American Pacific Islander history, identity, and civic belonging. Participants will:
- Learn from a panel of scholars who developed AAPI Hidden Voices materials, Dr. Vivian Louie, Dr. Mae Ngai and Chris Kwok on the topic of activism in AAPI communities
- Participate in workshops led by the NYC Hidden Voices team and the Asian American Education Project
- Receive free copies of Hidden Voices materials and graphic novels about AAPI history
- Join a tour of MOCA’s current exhibitions
- Walk away with resources & practical ideas for classroom implementation
5 CTLE hours provided. Light breakfast and lunch included.
