Stand Against Hatred: The South Asian Community Pre and Post 9/11

September 8 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm EDT
Virtual Event
Free

The terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, marked a turning point in American policies toward immigration, privacy, and the way South Asian Americans were perceived and treated. South Asian Americans faced an increase in hate crimes and bias-motivated incidents. Yet, they resisted and thrived. This workshop shares a few lesson plans on South Asian Americans, from the 1800s to the present day.

This workshop is free for educators and will take place virtually. It will be facilitated by Jayson Chang.
