To celebrate the paperback release of Lisa Ko’s most recent novel, Memory Piece, P&T Knitwear is pleased to host a night of author presentations on topics they’re obsessed with — from recent internet wormholes to novel ‘research.’

Lisa will be joined by Jennifer Baker, author of Forgive Me Not; Temim Fruchter, author of City of Laughter; Benedict Nguyễn, author of Hot Girls with Balls; and Nina Sharma, author of The Way You Make Me Feel: Love in Black and Brown. Each of these writers will share presentations on their favorite obsessions. Afterwards, Lisa will sign copies of Memory Piece.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Lisa Ko is the author of the nationally bestselling novel The Leavers, which was a finalist for the National Book Award for Fiction and the PEN/Hemingway Award, and winner of the 2016 PEN/Bellwether Prize for Socially Engaged Fiction. Ko’s short fiction has appeared in The Best American Short Stories and her essays and nonfiction have been published in The New York Times and The Believer.

Jennifer Baker is a publishing professional of twenty years, the creator and host of the Minorities in Publishing podcast, and editor of the short story anthology Everyday People: The Color of Life. She has volunteered with organizations such as We Need Diverse Books and I, Too, Arts Collective, and spoken widely on topics of inclusion, the craft of writing, podcasting, and the inner workings of the publishing industry. Her fiction, nonfiction, and criticism have appeared in various print and online publications.

Temim Fruchter is a queer nonbinary anti-Zionist Jewish writer who lives in Brooklyn, NY. She holds an MFA in fiction from the University of Maryland, and is the recipient of fellowships from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, Vermont Studio Center, and a 2020 Rona Jaffe Foundation Writer’s Award. She is co-host of Pete’s Reading Series in Brooklyn. Her debut novel, City of Laughter, a New York Times Editors’ Pick, is out now on Grove Atlantic.

Benedict Nguyễn is a freelance dancer, creative producer, and gym buff. She’s the author of the freelance labor zine nasty notes and the debut novel Hot Girls with Balls, forthcoming from Catapult on July 1.

Nina Sharma’s work has appeared in The New Yorker, Electric Literature, Longreads, and The Margins. A graduate of the MFA program at Columbia University, she served as the programs director at the Asian American Writers’ Workshop and currently teaches at Columbia and Barnard College. She is a proud cofounder of the all–South Asian women’s improv group Not Your Biwi.
