If you’re located in the NYC area, join this two-day, hands-on training to gain the skills and knowledge needed to run or support a successful campaign.

The Regional Leadership Academy (RLA) is a two-day leadership training event created to demystify the process of running for office. RLAs provide current elected officials, individuals seeking to run for public office, and community stakeholders with the framework for running a successful campaign. APAICS partners with local organizations to deliver programming that consists of interactive election training with topics ranging from developing your campaign plan, communications, digital organizing, power mapping, volunteer recruitment and management, and fundraising.

Regional Leadership Academy trainings generally take place on Fridays from 8:00 AM -7:00 PM and Saturdays from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM. On Fridays, the training typically ends around 5:00 PM and is followed by a community reception following the training.

Cost of Attendance

There is a fee of $100 to attend the academy. Upon acceptance, program participants will be asked to pay this amount. The fee covers the entire training for both days. If you are unable to pay the $100, scholarship options are available.
