“MOCA Performs – Heteroglossia” will present the resident artists’ works-in-progress. In this presentation, resident artists will share the vision for their projects and present a draft of the project. Audience will have the opportunity to have an in-depth conversation with the resident artists on the projects, and learn about the cultural significance behind each of resident artists’ works.

In this performance, Filmmaker MIN DING will present Weaving Identity: Self-Coming & Beyond. This project delves into the legacy of Cantonese women who chose celibacy over marriage, challenging cultural norms and celebrating self-autonomy, and how it resonates with today’s society. Flamenco Dancer YASMINA YUEXI‘s project, Echoes of Golden Venture, depicts the sentiments and resilience shared by the immigrants. It aims to honor the experiences of those who sought after a better life, and to ensure their stories will never be forgotten. Theatre Composer/Writer TIDTAYA SINUTOKE‘s White Rice is a song cycle based on the interviews with Thai/-Americans in discovering the authenticity of Thai food and its evolution.
