The traditional Chinese almanac (Tong Sing in Cantonese and Huang Li in Mandarin), has for many centuries provided all kinds of cultural information and advice — from household tips to general medical remedies. But what has made it a go-to resource in many Chinese households are its predictions of which times are auspicious or ominous for a wide range of daily pursuits or major life events, from weddings to breaking ground on a new business. Joanna and Ken’s Pocket Almanac, compact and straighforward, provides tips and information on every day of the coming year!
