Bio:

King Fear is a 22-year old singer/songwriter/musician based in New York City.

When he graduated from Stanford University in 2025, he could have chosen the traditional, stable route of an elite college alum. Instead, he decided to build a music career. It’s his way of answering the question: “what happens when you finally stop playing it safe?”

Known as Richard Yuan by friends, King Fear is blazing a path for Asian-American artists in an industry that has yet to recognize its own biases. The name King Fear is inspired by Shakespeare’s play King Lear – a tribute to Richard’s focus on meaningful writing and theatrical stage presence.
