“Echoes of Two Homelands”

Earlier this year I shared the news about the Queens Arts Fund, and I’m so happy to finally share the date of the concert!

I grew up in Japan, and in 2020 I moved to Queens to study at Queens College. Since then, this neighborhood has slowly become my second home.

For this concert, I wanted to bring both of those homes into the music: songs from Japan, played with the sound of New York jazz that I have learned here, and a new piece I’ve been writing for this night. Last year, we played a free concert for the Elmhurst community, and seeing so many neighbors and friends in the room meant a lot to me.

I hope this year can be another warm evening like that. Please bring your family and friends!
