Cover Collage & Memory Mixtape Workshop

Co-sponsored by the Asian/Pacific/American Institute at NYU.
Inspired by COVERS BY MP3, this playful, hands-on workshop invites participants to create a mini CD keychain with a shareable memory playlist, paired with a self-designed album cover.
COVERS BY MP3 is a multimedia community arts project that documents stories from the Korean diaspora through music, memory, and recreated album covers featuring participants in place of the original artists.
In this workshop, participants will build a playlist of the music that has shaped their lives and collage an album cover inspired by the memories it evokes. Their design will then be transformed into a mini CD keychain that links to the playlist, allowing their personal soundtrack to be shared at the tap of a phone.
This program is made possible in part with public funds from the Queens Arts Fund, a re-grant program supported by New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and administered by New York Foundation for the Arts.
It is also made possible through the generous support of the Queens Public Library.
