Connecting with Our Emotions and Bodies Through Writing

Are you feeling stuck or disconnected? Perhaps numb or overwhelmed? Join this one-hour workshop where we will discuss ways to re-connect with our bodies and our emotions through writing.

We will talk about what emotions are and how we experience them. We’ll read a couple of poems, do a quick breathing exercise, and write together.

Sharing will be encouraged, but optional. Come through and let’s get in our feels together.

This session is open to all.

Our instructor, Karo Ska (she/they) is a South Asian and Eastern European gender-fluid writer living on unceded Tongva land. Author of loving my salt-drenched bones (World Stage Press, 2022), their writing focuses on identity, mental health, survivorship, and the intersections of trauma and politics. They are currently working on a memoir. They believe that writing is a craft and a restorative tool for well-being. Their classes focus on utilizing poetry to rejuvenate ourselves while improving our practice of language through the use of lyrical and literary elements.
