Volunteers who register will receive a code for free co-working (9am–5pm) at the Hub for the day of the event.

Why canvass storefronts?

​Chinatown has been on the defensive for decades. Critical support often only arrives after it’s too late: After a legacy business closes, after a block loses its character, after displacement is irreversible. To change that, we need to understand what’s happening in real time.

Through storefront canvassing, we can:

• Track closures and openings, and see what businesses immediately need WtC support
• Spot trends in business types, and identify commercial corridor shifts – what’s growing, what’s disappearing
• Advocate with real evidence, and give policymakers and media the data they need to support Chinatown’s future
• Preserve culture and legacy by building a historical record of Chinatown’s commercial corridor
