The 1990 Institute is pleased to invite you to our Teachers Workshop: Asian American Identity: Immigration History and Transgenerational Impact, held virtually, on Thursday, September 20, 2024 at 4 pm Pacific / 7:00pm Eastern with Ha-Yu Sebastian Cherng and Vivian Louie.

This workshop is designed to help educators deepen their understanding of Asian American identity through the lens of immigration history and its transgenerational impact on culture and identity. Participants will explore the historical context of Asian immigration to the United States, examine the diverse experiences of Asian American communities, and gain insights into how these factors shape identity across generations.

Whether you are an educator, student, community member, or simply interested in the topic, this event offers a valuable opportunity to engage with critical issues surrounding Asian American identity and the influence of immigration on the community, This virtual Teachers Workshop supports middle and secondary school educators who teach Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Studies and/or Ethnic Studies but is open to all.
