Facilitated by award-winning Filipino Canadian author Renato Gandia, this special gathering brings together authors Clarissa Trinidad Gonzalez, Chris Gatchalian and Mark Sy for readings and a thoughtful discussion about migration, faith, memory, sexuality and belonging.

Recently named the first Filipino recipient of the RBC Bronwen Wallace Award for Emerging Writers and winner of the Pacific Spirit Poetry Prize from PRISM international, Gandia’s work offers a powerful meditation on the complexities of identity, history and home.

Through featured readings and an open discussion, we will reflect on how writing can connect communities across distance, hold complicated histories and create space for recognition, tenderness and possibility.
