AAPI Art and Power Intersect: Creative Media for Advocacy
May 30, 2025 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm EDT
Free
Hear from artists who uplift AANHPI voices, help inform our communities, and advocate for our rights through their work at this virtual event on Friday, May 30th 2 PM – 3 PM ET. As we close out Asian Pacific American Heritage Month (APAHM), we reflect on how AAPI women and gender expansive people use diverse media to empower our communities and inspire acts of resistance, throughout history and today. We’ll discuss the power of art in movements and why this is especially resonant with and critical for AAPI communities. Panelists will discuss how AAPI artists are using their platforms to change the world; the idea that art is intrinsically “political”; and the history of art in movement work. There will be time for Q&A at the end of the panel. Please register to be able to submit questions.
