A Concert of Love

November 21, 2026 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm EST
Free – $25

Join us for A Concert of Love, an evening of sacred choral music celebrating harmony, where different voices and hearts come together as one through love.

Presented by 맨하탄 하늘처럼 성가대, the Korean Catholic choir at the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, the program brings together Bruckner motets and Fauré masterworks, the rarely performed Allegri Miserere and Greek Byzantine chant, and heartfelt Korean sacred songs like “평화의 기도” and “이토록 사랑하시어,” featuring mezzo-soprano and bass-baritone soloists with violin, organ, and harp.

The evening opens with a sound-healing meditation. Then the men of the choir process in singing a Greek Byzantine Alleluia, and the women follow, singing the opening movement of Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater. Later in the first half, you will hear Allegri’s Miserere Mei, Deus, famous for its soaring soprano high C. In the second half, the St. Francis texts, the Prayer of St. Francis and the Canticle of the Sun, will be sung in the very church that bears his name.

The concert is conducted by Andrew Chung, with 박재희 at the piano and 한승희 at the organ.

“So that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Romans 15:6)

A light reception follows the concert. All are warmly welcome.
