2025 What Can We Do? Artists in the Community

Join A4 for a celebration of What Can We Do? artists, their projects, and their contributions to the community!
The event will include brief presentations from each of the artists followed by time to mingle and enjoy light refreshments.
This year, more than 20 artists carried out creative projects showing care to the AAPI community in Flushing, Queens, and Chinatown, Manhattan, and to the Palestinian community throughout NYC.
Many of the artists collaborated with and/or tailored projects for the constituents of community-based organizations including Chatham Square Public Library, University Settlement, Queens Botanical Garden, Queens Public Library, and Women for Afghan Women.
Their projects varied widely in scope and discipline (full list here). Examples include:
• “Poeticians,” a gathering for amateur Arab artists to showcase their writing, music, and art (Hind Shoufani)
• a healing space for various Palestinian-led organizations including Palestinian Feminist Collective offering ear acupuncture, meditation and collective creative ceremony, and homemade Syrian food (Michi Osato and Noelle Ghoussaini)
• a beginner-friendly dance workshop series designed to introduce participants to the richness of Korean music, dance, and traditions in Flushing, Queens (Da Hyun Kim)
• a holistic workshop series combining physical strength movement classes with music and storytelling for seniors at Knickerbocker Village in Chinatown, Manhattan (Rochelle Kwan of Chinatown Records in collaboration with dancer Mei-Yin Ng)
