THE PROJECT:

Committee of 100, a nonprofit membership organization of prominent Chinese Americans, and NORC at the University of Chicago, one of the largest independent social research organizations in the United States, released new findings on March 25, 2026, in its ongoing State of Chinese Americans research. This is the third year of this project, and the second of four reports releasing this year. The first was released on January 21, 2026.

For the first time, the study reached beyond the Chinese American population to survey the general American public about issues relevant to Chinese Americans and U.S.-China relations.

“Beyond the party line: Chinese American partisanship and vote choice”

This September 2026 report reviews partisanship and vote choice among Chinese Americans. Conclusions include: Chinese American men identify as Republican at more than twice the rate of women (38 percent to 18 percent), and 11 percent of Chinese American Republicans voted for Kamala Harris in 2024, a higher crossover rate than any other racial or ethnic group.
