SUMMARY:Lunar New Year Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Lunar New Year in Prospect Park! Enjoy a lion dance\, cultural performances\, festive activities & raffle prizes.\n\n\nJoin Prospect Park Alliance and the Chinese-American Planning Council for a joyful Lunar New Year celebration in the heart of Brooklyn. This festive gathering is a celebration of fresh starts and new beginnings\, featuring an exciting lion dance\, live cultural performances\, and hands-on activities for neighbors of all ages. Whether you’re coming for the raffle prizes or to snag one of the gift bags available to the first 100 attendees\, it’s a day dedicated to community\, culture\, and the spirit of the season. \nThis celebration is brought to you through a partnership rooted in community care. Prospect Park Alliance\, the non-profit that sustains Brooklyn’s Backyard\, works year-round to keep the park a vibrant and welcoming sanctuary for all New Yorkers. By hosting events like this\, the Alliance ensures our public green spaces serve as a vital hub for cultural exchange and local connection. \nJoining them is the Chinese-American Planning Council (CPC)\, the nation’s largest Asian American social services organization. Since 1965\, CPC has been a lifeline for over 60\,000 New Yorkers annually\, providing the social and economic tools—from education to workforce development—that empower immigrant and low-income communities. Together\, our organizations invite you to stop by\, learn more about the local resources available to you\, and usher in the New Year alongside the neighbors and advocates who make our borough thrive.
