DESCRIPTION:As a valued friend of Foundations and Futures\, we cordially invite you to a free webinar series co-sponsored by the UCLA Asian American Studies Center\, UCLA Center X\, the American Federation of Teachers (AFT)\, and the National Education Association (NEA). The Teaching Asian American and Pacific Islander Histories Webinar Series will take place once a month on Mondays throughout the school year and will highlight chapters from the Foundations and Futures Multimedia Textbook. \nEach webinar session will take place via zoom on a Monday from 4:00-5:30 PM Pacific Time. \nSales end on Sep 14\, 2026 \nWebinar Schedule: \n\nSeptember 14\, 2026: We Are Here Because You Were There: Race\, Colonialism\, and Migration\nOctober 19\, 2026: Kānaka ʻŌiwi: Indigenous Hawaiian Identity\, Culture\, and Rebirth of the Sacred\nNovember 9\, 2026: Asian American Popular Culture: Representation\, Propaganda\, and the Media\nJanuary 11\, 2027: Asian American Exclusion: Aliens Ineligible to Citizenship\nFebruary 8\, 2027: Asian Americans in the US South: Labor\, Civil Rights\, and Identity\nMarch 8\, 2027: South Asian Americans before 1965: Stories of Perseverance\, Activism\, and Cultural Exchange\nApril 12\, 2027: Vietnamese American Experiences: Learning From Refugee Experiences\nMay 10\, 2027: Youth Organizing: Building Multiracial Solidarities\n\nSessions will feature a special guest presentation from one of the chapter authors.
