Her reflections offer a powerful critique of medical institutions and invite us to consider what care\, connection\, and justice can look like in the face of loss. \nThis event will be hosted by Dr. Connie Wun \, Executive Director of AAPI Women Lead\, who will engage Nicole in an intimate conversation about writing through grief\, honoring loved ones\, and imagining systems rooted in dignity and compassion. \nThis event is for anyone who has experienced loss\, cared for family\, or is rethinking how we support each other in times of crisis. \nAbout the Author: \nNicole Chung is the author of the award-winning memoir A Living Remedy\, which was named a Notable Book by The New York Times and a Best Book of the Year by over a dozen other outlets. Her 2018 debut All You Can Ever Know was a national bestseller and a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award. Chung has written for The New York Times Magazine\, The Guardian\, Time\, Esquire\, The Washington Post\, and many other publications. Previously\, she was the digital editorial director of Catapult\, where she helped lead its magazine to two National Magazine Awards; before that\, she was the managing editor of The Toast and an editor for Hyphen magazine. Born\, adopted\, and raised in the Pacific Northwest\, she currently lives in the Washington\, DC area. \nAbout the Moderator: \nDr. Connie Wun is a co-founder of AAPI Women Lead\, a former sex worker\, and the daughter of Vietnamese war refugees. She has published in academic books\, journals\, and mainstream press\, including Anti-Blackness\, Critical Sociology\, and Elle Magazine\, and is a co-editor for the anthology Abolition for the People with Colin Kaepernick and Christopher Petrella.
