DESCRIPTION:Picking tickets for this Thursday 9/3 and Friday 9/4 are available to purchase on the website now.\nDue to a late spring freeze\, our orchard has significantly limited amounts of our Asian pears across all varieties. We anticipate a very short season. As a result\, we highly recommend that you purchase your picking tickets in advance or pre-order boxed fruit at your earliest convenience. \nAsian pear varieties available: \n\nHosui\, 20th Century\, Hybrid (Described as Apple Pear/Hosui mix) – from September 3\nApple Pear – from September 10\n\n \nOrganic Chestnuts\, Organic Fresh Dates\, and Organic Pawpaws will be available starting mid-September. If you are interested\, please fill out the contact box here with your interest and preferred contact method. We will be collecting names and contacting in order of submission once the produce is ready. Please note availability is not guaranteed. \nPre-Order Reservation Fee: $5.00 per pre-order pick-up reservation. The pre-order reservation fee will be credited toward your purchase. DESCRIPTION:Walk the neighborhood with us and help build a real-time database of Chinatown’s storefronts! \nVolunteers who register will receive a code for free co-working (9am–5pm) at the Hub for the day of the event. \nWhy canvass storefronts? \n​Chinatown has been on the defensive for decades. Critical support often only arrives after it’s too late: After a legacy business closes\, after a block loses its character\, after displacement is irreversible. To change that\, we need to understand what’s happening in real time. \nThrough storefront canvassing\, we can: \n\nTrack closures and openings\, and see what businesses immediately need WtC support\nSpot trends in business types\, and identify commercial corridor shifts – what’s growing\, what’s disappearing\nAdvocate with real evidence\, and give policymakers and media the data they need to support Chinatown’s future\nPreserve culture and legacy by building a historical record of Chinatown’s commercial corridor\n\n​This is a monthly event that will take place every 4th Thursday of the month
