Join us 9/22 at 8PM at Scholes Street Studio for a preview concert before we head into the recording studio this November! \nAfter the Guardians album released in 2024\, we continue with whole new compositions! \nAnnie Chen Guardians\, a 2022-born jazz and improvised music group featuring top-tier musicians from diverse backgrounds\, including Chinese\, Japanese\, Korean\, Swiss\, American. \nGuardians II – The Hidden Ministry is the second installment in a body of work dedicated to exploring Chinese traditional music\, experimental improvisation\, and thematic narratives centered on climate change and humanity’s relationship with nature. Featuring new compositions and arrangements by vocalist/composer Annie Chen\, this new work investigates the intimate and often unseen lives of mountain birds\, using the melodies of ancient Chinese mountain songs as a foundation for each composition.
