SUMMARY:Signature Theatre Writing Workshops
DESCRIPTION:Step inside the creative process of the playwrights who lived it. \nEver wonder how a headline becomes a play? \nMelis Aker pulls back the curtain on her writing process\, showing participants how she transformed inspiration from real news stories into original theater\, the exact process that became FISH. \nLauren Yee takes you inside the making of KING OF THE YEES\, a wild\, Alice-in-Wonderland-style journey born from a real\, stranger-than-fiction moment in her own life back in 2014. \nTwo playwrights. Two processes. One rare chance to learn how these two storytellers wrote these amazing plays. Get ready to write in these workshops! \nSeats are limited\, reserve yours today. Pay-what-you-choose registration. Workshops are located at the Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street). \nDATES:\nOctober 5\, Melis Aker – https://signaturetheatre.org/checkout/?dest=tickets&inst=8201\nOctober 8\, Lauren Yee – https://signaturetheatre.org/checkout/?dest=tickets&inst=8401 \nTIME: 5:00 to 6:30 PM each day
