DESCRIPTION:Alvin Eng is a native Flushing author\, playwright\, educator\, and performer. In his riveting memoir “Our Laundry\, Our Town: My Chinese American Life from Flushing to the Downtown Stage and Beyond\,” he shares his life from his parents’ laundry on Union Street to the turbulent\, exciting streets of 1970s NYC. \nJoin us for an intimate discussion with Alvin Eng on his memoir\, followed by a book signing and scavenger hunt. Limited copies will be available for purchase\, courtesy of Queens Book Bazaar. \nTake a moment to document your memories at the Queens Memory pop-up table after the author talk. Bring a personal memento\, like a family snapshot\, a handwritten postcard\, or a favorite drawing\, and have it scanned on the spot. Participants will take home a free flash drive with their digitized files and have the option to contribute to the Queens Memory Collection. This program will primarily be offered in English.
