This program features interviews of Chinese Americans who have contributed to the success of America through their pioneering efforts\, heroic achievements\, or recollections of important events. Each interview will start with a live broadcast\, followed by video and podcast recordings that will be available as part of a library of the interviews. \n  \nChinese Americans have contributed greatly to advance the success of this country in many walks of life – science\, the arts\, agriculture\, philanthropy\, political leadership\, architecture\, business\, and more. \n  \nThis Committee of 100 Conversations event will feature one of the founders of the Committee of 100\, Henry Tang\, who will talk about the founding of the organization\, his own personal histories\, the impact that the organization has had over the years\, and the important role that the Committee of 100 hopes to continue to have far into the future. \n  \nFounded 37 years ago\, the Committee of 100 is a non-profit\, non-partisan membership organization of prominent Chinese Americans in business\, government\, academia\, science\, technology\, and the arts. The organization was formed following the aftermath of Tiananmen Square. At the urging of Dr. Henry Kissinger\, renowned architect I.M. Pei assembled an exceptional group of Chinese Americans to address the critical issues impacting the Chinese community in America and help foster positive relations between the U.S. and Greater China. This group of luminaries — Yo-Yo Ma\, I.M. Pei\, Henry S. Tang\, Oscar Tang\, Chien Shiung Wu\, and Shirley Young — became the first generation of Committee of 100 members. \n  \nCommittee of 100’s purpose is to provide leadership and act as a constructive force in promoting the full participation of all Chinese Americans in American society and acting as a public policy resource for the Chinese-American community; and advancing constructive dialogue and relationships between the peoples and leaders of the United States and Greater China. \n  \nPeter Young\, Chair of the Initiative and a Committee of 100 Member\, will be the moderator. The broadcast will be 45 minutes long. \nThere is no fee and you can register at: https://c100-3-3-2026.eventbrite.com \n▦ Speaker Bios: \nHenry Tang \nManaging Partner of Carnegie Towers Strategic Investment Advisory \nCo-Founder of the Committee of 100 \n  \nHenry Tang is a seasoned 30-year investment banking veteran of Wall Street having participated in and observed the global transformation of the capital markets. As a securities management executive an one of the early Chinese American senior financial executives\, he has been engaged in global investment and banking activities in Europe\, Asia and the U.S. for several of the largest Wall Street investment banks including Salomon Brothers\, Lehman Brothers and Prudential. \nHenry Tang’s business experiences have also been enhanced by a broad participation in numerous public and community activities. He has been active in many efforts to help bridge cultural and economic understanding between the China region and the U.S. and between Chinese Americans in the U.S. \nTogether with I.M. Pei\, Yo-Yo Ma\, and a group of prominent Americans of Chinese heritage\, Mr. Tang helped found the Committee of 100\, whose 159 person membership now includes Computer Associates CEO Charles Wang and renowned AIDS researcher Dr. David Ho\, to help create a better understanding of American and Chinese cultural and economic events. \nIn addition\, Mr. Tang also has a long-standing commitment towards fostering conditions for the advancement of Asians into senior leadership positions in business\, politics\, academia\, medicine\, science\, and government. Several years ago\, President George H.W. Bush appointed him to the Federal Glass Ceiling Commission chaired by then Labor Secretary Lynn Martin. \n  \nMr. Tang has also served as a director of the Committee on Economic Development\, the Federation of Protestant Agencies\, the Chinese American Planning Council\, the Asian Financial Society\, and the Chinese American Executive Forum. He also served as a member of the New York-Beijing Sister City Commission. In 1987\, Mayor Edward Koch granted him the Ethnic New Yorker Award. He is also the first recipient of the Asian American Business Achievement Award. In 1994\, he was awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor. \n  \n  \n▦ Moderator and Chair of the Committee of 100 Conversations Program\nPeter Young \nCEO\, Young & Partners \nCommittee of 100 Member\, New York Regional Chair and Board Member \nPeter Young is CEO of Young & Partners\, a boutique corporate strategy and investment banking firm focused on the life science and chemical industries. He manages the firm and is actively involved in client transactions and financings. Under his leadership\, Young & Partners has established and maintained its position as a highly regarded firm serving the corporate strategy\, M&A\, restructuring and financing needs of clients worldwide. He was previously head of industry groups at Salomon Brothers\, Schroders and Lehman Brothers\, a senior private equity executive with J.H. Whitney & Co. and a senior member of Bain & Co.\, the corporate strategy firm. \nMr. Young received a BA in Economics from Yale\, an MS in Accounting from NYU\, and MBA from Harvard Business School where he graduated with Distinction as a Baker Scholar. He is a CPA and a Chartered Global Management Accountant.
