SUMMARY:AAPI-CARE Parent Convening
DESCRIPTION:AAPI-CARE (Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders – Connect. Activate. Reimagine. Engage.) is a 1-day convening that brings together NYC’s AAPI and allied parents to discuss the experiences and issues most relevant to AAPI families. AAPI-CARE aims to create a shared learning community where parents and caregivers will be equipped with the tools to advocate for themselves\, their families\, and the wider AAPI community as a whole. This convening will also create opportunities for parents to engage in social justice leadership.  \nThis convening is open to AAPI parents/grandparents/legal guardians of a child/children in public\, K-12 schools; parents are interested in leadership and are curious\, open-minded\, and want to learn.  \nDate: Saturday\, 12/13/2025 \nTime: 10:00 AM — 5:00 PM\nLocation: Downtown Manhattan (exact location will be shared via email confirmation later)\nNote: Lunch will be provided and childcare can be available \nCost: Free\n\nThis convening aims to \n\n\nActivate AAPI families to become informed advocates for an equitable and anti-racist public school system. \nCreate a shared learning community of Asian American families in the NYC public school system\, focused on understanding racism through the Asian American lens.\n\n\n\n\nAt the end of the convening\, you will \n\n\nHave a deeper understanding of our struggles \nBe confident in sharing an Asian American narrative about the public education landscape.
