DESCRIPTION:Join us for creative conversations on solidarity\, legacy\, activism + art with Akemi Kochiyama-Ladson\, traci kato-kiriyama + special guests. \n\n\n\nAlongside a few special guests\, the afternoon will feature: \nAkemi Kochiyama-Ladson speaking on the Yuri Kochiyama Solidarity Project\, which honors Yuri’s legacy and carries on her commitment to bring people together and build cross movement\, cross racial solidarity in support of human rights\, dignity\, and self-determination for all oppressed people. \ntraci kato-kiriyama reading from their book of poetry\, Navigating With(out) Instruments and talking about a new installation-performance-community organizing project linking actions and conversations on provenance\, Reparations\, solidarity\, collective healing\, and the reclamation of “items” that are missing/stolen/lost. \nMFA Design for Social Innovation at the School of Visual Arts is excited to host this event at the DSI studio in Chelsea\, New York City\, to share projects\, engage in conversations\, mingle over snacks\, and stimulate meaningful interaction and connections among all present. \nPLEASE SAVE THE DATE + RSVP \n\n\nAccessibility Notice: MFA DSI wants to ensure persons with disabilities have access to this event. DESCRIPTION:Sanctuary After Dark: Legacies of Queer Nightlife\nPresented in collaboration with Body Hack\nAlice O’Malley\, Body Hack Collective\, Julie Tolentino\, Lola Flash\, and more\nSaturday\, June 27 | 2pm-10pm | Body Hack’s Pride Nonstop will continue all weekend long \nSanctuary After Dark is free and open to the public\, but RSVP with donation is strongly encouraged\, to support Body Hack’s fundraising for Black Trans Liberation Kitchen and The Celebration of Black Trans Women Cookout. The ticket for Body Hack’s Pride Nonstop is sold separately.\nThe club\, the party\, the disco\, the bar\, the rave\, the rager\, the afters\, the carry. Are these all sanctuary\, however imperfect? \nSanctuary After Dark unfolds legacies of nightlife as sites of sanctuary\, particularly as refuge for queer communities across generations in New York City. Artists including Lola Flash\, Alice O’Malley\, and Julie Tolentino will reflect upon queer 90s nightlife and its echoes through today through different creative engagements. These will include a thread of lineage drawn between Body Hack and the Clit Club. Operating from 1990 to 2002\, the Clit Club was a legendary queer party in New York’s meatpacking district that organized and galvanized queer communities through years of crisis and upheaval. Active since 2018\, Body Hack is a collective and event series producing multi-faceted parties and fundraisers supporting trans and gender non-conforming community members. \nSanctuary After Dark will occur during Body Hack’s 2026 Pride Nonstop at Nowadays\, a weekend-long party supporting mutual aid campaigns for trans healthcare\, decarceration\, housing\, and overall stability while revealing vital resonances between multiple generations of queer nightlife sanctuary spaces. \nSCHEDULE \n\n2–3PM | Clit Club DJ Set\n3–5PM | Lola Flash and Alice O’Malley\n5PM | Julie Tolentino with Anh Vo and Buffy Sierra\n5:30PM | Clit Club DJ Set Outro\n6–8PM | DJ D1NAH 8-10 PM | FASHION
